Welcome to the IQDA
The Irish Qualitative Data Archive (IQDA) is a central access point for qualitative social science data generated in or about Ireland. The archive frames the parameters and standards for archiving qualitative data within the Irish research community. The IQDA is a participant in the Digital Repository of Ireland and is currently part of the DASISH Infrastructure project.

Deposit your data with the IQDA or add a record about your research to IQDA catalogue. Advice on preparing your data for archiving is available here, including advice on consent, anonymising, and the technology and formats that are best for archiving. The IQDA Best Practice Handbook in Archiving Qualitative Data is available for download here.
TEACHING QUALITATIVE METHODS
Download our teaching resources for qualitative methods. Qualitative data archives are a valuable teaching resource, whether to provide examples of topics, illustrate themes or demonstrate how qualitative research is conducted in the field. Junior researchers can learn by listening to the examples provided in qualitative archives.

Should you require quantitative social science data, please see the Irish Social Science Data Archive (ISSDA). The ISSDA holds an ever-increasing quantity of machine-readable data from surveys and official statistics (such as the Census) and makes them readily available to academic and non-profit researchers.

Collection of audio clips that educators can use in the classroom. Educators can also apply to the IQDA for access to transcripts for teaching purposes.
